The Rangers were off to a hot start with a trio of goals early in the first half. Northwestern commit Madison Donley did a nice job facilitating and scoring, along with sophomore Stephanie Currie who added a few goals herself. The veteran group of starters got things going, and the bench picked up right where they left off. A crew of juniors came off the bench and gave solid minutes for FHC. Leading the way was junior forward Ali Czarnecki who had an assist and goal back to back to lengthen their lead.

“I was just trying to keep things simple and help my team as much as I could,” Ali said. “Playing with the skilled teammates that I have makes everything easier and opens things up.”

Ali gave credit to their crisp passing as a key in the win.

“We passed really well,” Ali said. “We took our time and our one and two touch passes were key.”

Junior Natalie Lunt also thought the high scoring affair was a tribute of their togetherness and unselfishness.

“We did a nice job of working together,” said Natalie, who will play college soccer at Indiana University. “We passed the ball well and found each other for goals.”

Head coach Jeremy Stacy believes that this game was very important, although it wasn’t too competitive.

“It’s always good to get experience across the board,” Stacy said. “We have a lot of depth, and to get more experience for those who will be key for us down the road is great.”

Although they have had some great wins as of late, Natalie knows they still have areas to improve on.

“We need to get better at defending as a team,” Natalie said. “Also, we need to finish easy chances more consistently.”

Ali has high hopes for the rest of the season as a team and as an individual.

“I think our common goal is a conference and state championship,” Ali said. “For me, I just want to help my team as much as possible when I’m on the field.”

Stacy has similar high hopes, and he knows what it’s going to take to achieve them.

“We just need to continue to get better and peak at the right time,” Stacy said. “We want to win a conference championship and then prepare to make a run in the tournament. Our goal is a state championship and unless we get better everyday then we aren’t going to be able to achieve that.”
