Spontaneity can open up a path to adventure

It’s easy to fall into a routine of doing the exact same thing every day, every week, every month – a consistent schedule where one goes through the various tasks and events of their daily life is often most efficient and the simplest way to get things done, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with this. Especially as a high school student, someone juggling school with sports and a social life and more will surely have trouble making any changes to their routine. However, there’s nearly always something different that can be done, and small spontaneous changes can turn out far better than anticipated.

Some people are only content with their regular schedule, and find comfort in having a daily routine that doesn’t tend to differ from day to day.

Spontaneity – it’s not for everybody. Some people are only content with their regular schedule, and find comfort in having a daily routine that doesn’t tend to differ from day to day. On the other hand, some may find that they enjoy taking a step away from the norm in favor of doing something that they have a sudden urge to do, or possibly going out and doing something they’ve wanted to do for years. This type of spontaneous action, I’ve learned, is an approach that I can learn greatly from and is something that I’d like to adopt into my life.

I’m not always the most spontaneous person. I’ve had instances where the opportunity to go someplace or do something new was presented to me, only for me to turn it down. I’ve regretted doing so on multiple occasions, and the times where I have gone on impromptu adventures or participated in activities I hadn’t planned for or weren’t expecting have led to truly great experiences. It’s just flat out fun to change plans in favor of something new and different, and I highly suggest that anyone give it a try if the opportunity presents itself.

These little changes in routine can be as small as going out to eat at a new restaurant for breakfast, or as large as taking a surprise road trip. Making these impromptu decisions can be a pleasant deviation from the norm, and it can’t hurt to do something different; spontaneity lead to a good dose of unexpected fun in life, and I recommend that everyone try to be more spontaneous at least once or twice.
