Student Council Q&As: Emily Albaitis
Name: Emily Albaitis
What position are you running for?
“I am running for Secretary.”
Why did you decide to run?
“I decided to run because I’ve always wanted to do Student Council but never really had the courage to. With next year being my last year to do it, I just decided to go for it so I wouldn’t regret not doing it later on.”
What are the main promises of your campaign?
“I really want to get more people involved. For the past few years, it has been the same group of people participating in things like the lip-sync. I’m going to try to get as many people to do the events and challenges as I can.”
What are a few things you’ve learned from this experience?
“I’ve learned to just go for it. My biggest fear going in was that I wouldn’t actually be elected or that something was going to happen that wasn’t ideal. I just kinda told myself that whatever happens, happens and in the end, everything will be okay.”
What are you most excited to be a part of organizing?
“I’m definitely most excited about planning all the senior events. I remember freshman year; the seniors did a lot of fun things as a class. Hopefully next year the pandemic will be much less of a threat so we can get back to doing normal traditions that haven’t been able to happen for the past two years.”
Why should your class vote for you?
“With this being my first year, I’m going to be a new person with new ideas. I will also make sure everyone feels heard by the Student Council.”
