Improv Team Q&As: Benji Zorn
What made you decide to join improv?
“What made me join the Improv team was my mom, at the end of my sophomore year, telling me to go give it a shot. It was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
What is your favorite Improv memory?
“I have so many great memories on the Improv team. One of my friends during a scene about a waterpark came in as someone from Atlantis saying ‘Welcome to Atlantis’ as loud as possible. It was the funniest thing ever.”
Why should FHC students join Improv next year?
“I feel every student should try out to be on the Improv team; it’s such a family. Also, the skills you develop as an improviser are skills that you can really take into any aspect of your life. The ability to think on your feet and think creatively are just a few of them.”
What is the most entertaining Improv game, and why?
“My favorite Improv game to play is this game called Freeze. In Freeze, we all are in a backline. Two people come forward and start a scene. At any point, someone can clap and scream “Freeze!” They have to stop the scene they’re doing in the exact position, and you can tap out and join the scene in the position they are.”
Who do you think is the funniest person during improv this year?
“I will not answer this one–everyone is.”
If you had to eat at any restaurant every single day what would it be?
“The restaurant I would choose is Jimmy John’s. I love sandwiches, and I feel like I could eat one of those sandwiches every day.”
What’s a song that reminds you of your Improv experience?
“‘I’ and ‘Living on a Prayer.'”
Why should people come to watch the show?
“It’ll be funny.”
