Improv Team Q&As: Sofia Hargis-Acevedo

What made you decide to join Improv?

“I was apprehensive about whether or not I wanted to try out for the Improv Team at first. However, after a chain of very long text messages from [alumna] Linus Kaechele, I was completely convinced.”

What is your favorite Improv memory?

“There are two memories in particular that still have me laughing from time to time; the first one was when we were playing a game where I was going down a slide in Atlantis. Then, [senior] Russell [Baird] came in at random and kept shouting “Welcome to Atlantis!” We were laughing about it for the rest of practice. The second one was when [senior] Zack [Guikema] did a scene by himself and played two different people. Zack is such a funny person in general, and his scene had tears rolling down my face.”

Why should FHC students join Improv next year?

“It is just such an amazing experience that I would not want anyone to miss out on. I have never laughed so hard in my life before doing Improv, and I would highly encourage anyone who is considering trying out to do so.”

What is the most entertaining Improv game, and why?

”My favorite game is called ‘New Choice.’ In this game, we act out a scene, and then someone else on the team shouts ‘new choice!’ having us change what we just did. I love this game so much because it is so entertaining to see what people come up with, and it always has me laughing.”

Who do you think is the funniest person during Improv this year?

“I am not going to answer this question—everyone on the team is extremely funny.”

If you had to eat at any restaurant every single day what would it be?

“Easy. Skyline Chili. I love this place so much, and I could never get tired of it.”

What’s a song that reminds you of your Improv experience?

““Pump Up The Jam” by Technotronic.”

Why should people come watch the show?

“It will be an amazing time that you will not want to miss.”
