The six holiday themed candies I tried.

The holidays are upon us, and you may be wondering what some of your favorite candy companies are doing. Well, I’m here to tell you.

Cherry Cordial Hershey Kisses

The first thing I noticed about these kisses is that they smell phenomenal. A wall of scent hit me in the face as soon as I opened the bag; it smelled just like real cherries. The next thing I noticed was the wrapping. It’s a shimmery red, with dark, red tiger stripes on it. It’s very pretty. When I bit into the kiss, my mouth was filled with a delicious cherry creme. It had a very strong flavor, and it mixed well with the milk chocolate casing around it. Overall, it was superb but not necessarily my favorite.

Mint Truffle Hershey Kisses

This kiss, too, had a cute wrapping. It was dark green with white snowflakes decorating it. It gave me some very wintery vibes. This kiss was dark chocolate with a mint creme inside. Overall, it was very minty and pretty good. I didn’t love how strong it was, and I wish it had been milk chocolate instead of dark. Something about the mint mixed with the bitter dark chocolate didn’t satisfy my taste buds.

Peppermint Hershey Kisses

The wrapping on these ones reminded me very much of the holidays. It was a silver wrapping with little red candy canes all over it. The best part about it was that when I opened the kiss, it looked and smelled exactly like a candy cane. The smell could be attributed to the candy cane pieces inside, and I definitely attribute the flavor to that. Overall, it was a solid piece of candy. The chocolate base was white chocolate, and it paired perfectly with the peppermint flavor.

Caramel Hershey Kiss

This one was my favorite. There were three different colors of wrapping, all of them with a darker shade of that color as an accent. The gold and green ones had tiger stripes, while the red one was a bit more of a swirl pattern. It tasted exactly like a Twix, but without the crunchy part. It was milk chocolate with a caramel cream inside. It was absolutely delicious. Even as I’m writing, I am eating them.

This candy tasted and smelled exactly like mint chocolate chip ice cream, which is one of my favorites. It almost brought me back to summer for just a moment.

Mint/Dark Chocolate Kit Kat

Once again, a mixture of dark chocolate and mint, this time, however, it was done perfectly. This candy tasted and smelled exactly like mint chocolate chip ice cream, which is one of my favorites. It almost brought me back to summer for just a moment. It was also a very pleasing piece of candy. The green of the minty part of the Kit Kat contrasted beautifully with the dark, rich color of the chocolate.

Gingerbread Kit Kat

This Kit Kat took me by surprise. It’s hard to get gingerbread flavoring right, so I was skeptical going into this. As soon as I opened the bag, I was hit with a feeling of holiday spirit. It reminded me of a book I read once, where on Christmas morning, the entire house was filled with the scent of gingerbread. I was still nervous to try it, but I was a bit more ready now. When I took a bite, I was shocked by the fact that it tasted exactly like gingerbread. At first, the candy tastes like butterscotch, but as you start to soak in the flavor, you are hit with the taste of gingerbread. It was shocking. Not only is the candy fantastic, but I was also pleasantly surprised by it.

Overall, I would say I enjoyed this taste test. It put me in the holiday spirit, but brought me back to the summer and made me content. I would highly recommend the holiday versions of some of my favorite candies, and I will definitely be eating them again.
