Improv Central 2022 Q&As: Abby Cumings

Grade: 12
What excites you most about Improv Central?
“I love just being myself and playing games with friends. I am always so excited to go to the practices and learn more about improv comedy.”

Why should people watch Improv Central?

“People should watch Improv Central because it is funny. We are just a group of high schoolers who love to have fun and make comedy with each other.”

On a scale from 1-10 (10 being the extreme), how nervous are you for the show and why?

“I would say I am at a 4 because I am a little nervous about the receptiveness of the audience. I am hopeful that they will have a good time and enjoy the show. I am also a little nervous about my own performance and whether or not I will be an asset to the team.”

What’s your favorite memory of being on the team?

“My favorite memory was overall just from our Chicago trip we took as a team. It was super fun to bond as a team, specifically on the Tilt in the Hancock Tower and watching Second City Improv perform live.”

What is a song that reminds you of the Improv team?

“I would say ‘A Thousand Miles’ by Vanessa Carlton because that is the first song our director, John Donovan, told us to put on the Improv playlist for Chicago.”

If you could only live in one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?

“I would love to live somewhere in England, maybe on the outskirts of London.”

What’s an improv game you enjoy?

“I love an improv game called Symphony of Complaints because it is high-energy, engaging, and overall hilarious to watch.”
