The secrets that I keep – ♡

Me and the boy that makes my heart happy.

I saw you from across the room.

I wondered how I had never noticed you before. Although I thought I knew everyone’s name, at first I didn’t know yours.

When I heard your name, that’s when I recognized you. At that time you meant nothing to me, you were just a forgotten name.

For a while, you were just there. You meant nothing. You were just another face in the full yet quiet room.

Now you’re here. You mean everything. You are one of the few faces I look forward to seeing.

In the beginning, it was me trying to recognize you. Then it was me taking peeks at you. Then those peeks became more frequent as I began to look at you more curiously.

Eventually, you started glancing at me too. We exchanged awkward smiles as I left the room while you were still packing up at your seat by the door. The smiles while passing each other continued into the hallway as well.

I’m not sure why you chose me or why you even looked at me. The day you walked up to me after school made my heart beat out of control. That day turned into the past nearly five months of my life.

I never would have been able to go up to you like you did to me. I didn’t have quite as much courage as you. I’m so thankful you came up to me that day.

You’ve made me forget what it’s like to be on my own and to feel alone. You’ve made me feel like I am loved and important.

You’ve made me forget what it’s like to be on my own and to feel alone. You’ve made me feel like I am loved and important.

I used to feel useless. I had no one but my family and close friends that I could rely on. But now I have you.

You make every day better. You never fail to make me laugh. Yes, we have a few things we disagree about, but in the end, none of those things truly matter.

I never thought I could love a person how I love you. You’ve shown me how I should be treated; you’ve shown me the way to happiness.

You’ve made such an impact on my life. I can tell that I’m happier now. I can tell that I enjoy life more. I look forward to any moment that I get to spend with you. I’ve only known you for five months, but it feels like I’ve known you forever.

We can talk for hours and not get bored, which is a thing I only do with the people I trust and like the most. You have embraced me for who I am. You have accepted my flaws and made me forget about them. You go along with my twisted and dark sense of humor due to its similarity to yours. You don’t seem to care that I can be a bit childish sometimes.

I thank you for every second I’ve spent with you. I thank you for all of the laughs and smiles. I thank you for everything you’ve done for me. I thank you for tolerating me.

It used to be lonely, but you have shown my heart what it’s like to have someone who loves me.
