Alive Preview Q&A

Film: Alive

Producer: Chance Spencer

1. What theme would you consider your film?

“Action/Adventure and Thriller.”

2. Can you give a brief overview of the plot of your film?

“Society, as we know it, has gone out the window; it is life or death. A lone teen is faced with the daily struggle of staying alive and staying sane.”

3. What inspired the storyline?

“This was an idea I have had for about a year. I was inspired by the original Mad Max film, but I wanted to put my own spin on the story.”

4. Through your film, what message are you conveying to your audience?

“Enjoy the basics of life.”

5. How is your film different than others being shown?

“There are a lot of ‘dark’ films being shown, but ours has an individual storyline and one of the only ‘post-apocalyptic’ films being shown.”

6. Can you provide details of your filming/editing process?

“Our film was almost entirely filmed outside, so we faced the challenge of weather and exciting locations. Throughout the editing process, we wanted to keep the dark look to the film.”

7. How did you pick your actors/actresses?

“Our main character is played by Nathan Ringel. I knew he was going to be our main character from the beginning, so I wrote the character around him. Other than him, I tried to surround him with any person I knew could act and was willing to help.”

8. What can your audience expect to get out of your film?

“An exciting journey of life and death.”

9. What was your favorite part of the creation process?

“I enjoyed the filming process and seeing the final film come into being.”

10. How do you hope your audience will react?

“I hope they will enjoy the film and develop emotional connections as the film plays out.”
