1.) Why did you decide to run for president?
“I decided to run for president for the class of 2020 because I have experience at this position and see a lot of potential for our class. I loved leading the class through Student Council as a freshman so I decided that I’d like to do it again next year. I plan to do a little extra for our class each and every day and I believe that it is in the classes best favor that I am elected. When we work together we can achieve so much!”
2.) What do you hope to accomplish if elected?
“Well…. I HOPE our class comes in first place in absolutely every competition there is but that might be a little unreasonable… Next year I’d like to really know what the class wants and really work for that, whether it’s raising money for a non-profit or having class meetings every week (or something of that nature) or just having the best homecoming float in history.”
3.) If you could push for one change at FHC, what would it be?
“Next year I would really like to take more surveys and know what the students want. After all, these are THEIR high school years, and I think that it would be most beneficial if their individual opinions actually mattered. Examples would be things such as retreats and dances, what do YOU want? Our “fun” shouldn’t be chosen by the admin or teachers if it’s for the students.”
4.) What extra-curricular activities are you involved in?
“I am involved in football, wrestling, rugby, band (including drumline), and I plan to do cross country next year. I also was class president this year and play other instruments in my free time.”
5.) What traits do you think successful leaders possess?
“As stated in my speech for VP as a seventh grader, “Leadership is about six main characteristics. These are confidence, commitment, courage, respect, responsibility, and team building.” Team building isn’t exactly a trait but I still believe it is vital to the well-being of the class and is brought about by a good leader.”
6.) Anything else you would like to say to potential voters?
“No one is running against me this year so I just want to congratulate everyone who helped make this year great! There is room for improvement and I would love to watch our class dominate competitions next year! We have the potential and we have a great student body but now it’s all up to you! Let’s all do just a little bit because it really adds up, your opinions and votes all matter. Everybody counts! Thank you.”
