2017 Student Council Q&A – Meredith Vanskiver

Name: Meredith Vanskiver

Grade: Freshman

1.) Why did you decide to run for Treasurer?

“I decided to run for treasurer because I have always been good at math and have goals in my head for what I want with our class.”

2.) What do you hope to accomplish if elected?

“I would hope to raise even more money we could use towards school activities. I think with the right funds we could go very far in the Homecoming competitions.”

3.) If you could push for one change at FHC, what would it be?

“One change I’d like to push for is a better relationship between all of the grades. I feel underclassman don’t have very many connections to the upperclassmen. Without sports, I think the connection would be even smaller. I’d like for everyone to be closer and more familiar with each other.”

4.) What extra-curricular activities are you involved in?

“I have been involved in cheerleading for the past five years.”

5.) What traits do you think successful leaders possess?

“A good leader needs to be able to reach different groups of people and make everyone feel like their ideas are being heard.”

6.) Anything else you would like to say to potential voters?

“I’d like to say that I know what Student Council is like, having been on it before, so I know better than anyone on how to improve it even more than it was.”
