Girls golf had a busy week filled with some success and some challenges. On Wednesday the team matched up with Ottawa Hills at Indian Trails Golf Course and played 9 holes. Overall the team scored well and individually had many personal records. Leading the team with the lowest score of the day with a 37, was junior Kayley Reynolds. Coming in as a close second for FHC was sophomore Ally Ringler with a score of 44. The girl’s focus and determination throughout the match led them to a victory over the opponent, Ottawa Hills.
Yesterday the varsity golfers faced some adversity during their match. The team traveled to Lansing early in the morning to begin the long day which included a full 18 holes of golf. The girls started off very strong, with Kayley Reynolds parring the first 3 holes. As the day went on the players became exhausted but they kept up their good work and technique. Kayley and Ally both scored under 100. Coach TenEyck and the golfers were very pleased with their performances. The next girls’ varsity golf match is Monday, Sept. 11 against Northview at 3:30 pm.
