Boys varsity tennis takes the win against Northview but falls to Midland Dow

Tuesday night was successful for the varsity tennis team. Every flight was won for FHC putting the team’s score at 8-0. The quad at Midland Dow was a different story.

FHC was hoping to place above Midland Dow, but placed second following Dow who took first. At 2 doubles, senior Jack Ziegler and Payton Herbert went 2 and 1 losing to Dow in a tough third set. As did 1 doubles, with senior Jacob Wiltjer and Aidan Rynbrandt. They are both 0 and 2 as a pair versus Dow. Overall, the quad was very important because it was the last quad against all division two teams and the last quad against Midland Dow. Midland Dow and FHC are two of the top three teams at states. For the boys who won against Dow means they solidified their spots above Dow for seeding at states.

FHC still has two more matches against Forest Hills Northern and those matches are huge for seeding. Considering they lost 6-2 to FHN.

Tonight the boys have a match against Greenville at Greenville. They are fairly confident they are going to get the win.

“We are going to use tonight to improve upon what we need to get better on” said senior Tyler George.
