JV Tennis Team keeps their winning streak alive, beats Lowell 8-2

The JV tennis team beat Lowell on Wednesday at home, losing only one match. The team won 8-2 against the Red Arrows, who they will not see again for the rest of the season. The team had a great overall win and most of the players on the team played with partners they have never played with before. Freshman Alex Lowell had a couple things to say about the team win.

“We had many changes in today’s lineup,” Alex said. “Kids played with people they had never played with before, but in the en, we came out on top.”

Alex won his match with his partner Jannis Jacobs who he has not played with before.

“As a team we are playing really strong we have 14 kids that can really jump in anywhere on the lineup, we have been moving them all around.” said head JV tennis coach Mitch Timyan. ” This match we switched it up and had a great outcome, we had our more experienced players and this helped the less experienced players learn valuable in match strategies.”

The Rangers won eight out of ten matches losing their 1 doubles and 2 doubles matches. The team is on a winning streak winning two of their last three matches. The coaches seemed to really find a groove with these kids and have put the pieces together.

The key wins for the Rangers in this match came from the lower end in the lineup. This lineup change was key for these wins by putting more experienced with less experienced players, helping to make the team a lot deeper.

The Ranger’s next match is this Friday against the Forest Hills Eastern Hawks who are going to be a real test for the Rangers due to their strong JV team.

Timyan has worked very hard with this team and has pushed them to be the best they can.

“Our team has made great progress,” Timyan said. “I am excited to see what happens the rest of the season.”
