FHC takes third at Brother Rice quad, but wins 4-0 against Ottawa Hills

Saturday, Brother Rice hosted a quad including FHC, Brother Rice, Bloomfield, and Rochester Adams. After an exciting quad, FHC took third overall. Senior Jack Zeigler and Payton Herbert at 2 doubles went 3-0. They were the only doubles to do so.

2 singles, Nicholas Sjolin went 6-1 6-1 against Brother Rice.

Yesterday FHC hosted the Ottawa Hills match and won 4-0. Ottawa Hills only had 4 players and they played 1 singles, 2 singles, 3 singles, and 4 singles. Four out of the thirteen tennis players on our team got the chance to play. Senior Michael Battiste played 1 singles, his brother Christopher Battiste played 2 singles, Senior Tyler George played 3 singles, and Senior Joey Killman played 4 singles. All of the teams singles scored 6-0. All of the players who played singles usually play doubles. The coach picked them because it was a good opportunity for the boys to get strokes in.

The tennis team does not have any more matches for the rest of the week. They are preparing for their Conference tournament on September 30th at home. This is a big week of preparation for the tennis team because their goal is to win the conference, regional, and finally states.
