JV Tennis suffers a tough loss to rival EGR

The JV tennis team had a big match at EGR against the Pioneers. This was their last scheduled match this year, and they did not have their best match. The Rangers went 0-7 in the match yesterday losing every match. The EGR team has been very strong all year and in the past, this was a big test for the Rangers. The one match that stood out for FHC was the 3 doubles match, consisting of Ben Koning and Shane Hubble. They lost their match 7-9 in the eight-game pro set. They played their best match of the year, showing how talented this East Grand Rapids team was, winning all of their matches.

The team has had a very tough schedule all year and ended their season playing East Grand Rapids, who is arguably one of the best JV teams. The team has improved over the last month significantly, winning a lot more of their matches and making them a lot closer. The first year co-head coaches Mitch Timyan and Humzah Azeem had a very productive season. Humzah and Mitch both played tennis here at FHC and played at 4 doubles together, winning a state championship. They taught the team a lot of strategy and tactics, getting them ready for varsity.
