Freshman Football ends strong, annihilates Wayland 42-6

The Ranger freshman Football team ended just the way they wanted to end the season, beating the Wayland Wildcats 42-6 in their season finale. Big performances from Sawyer Bosch and Maguire Mahacek paved the way for such a large margin of victory on Thursday night. The big key for the Rangers was the offensive lines opening gaps which helped Sawyer and Maguire go off.

The first half did not look good for the Rangers as they were sloppy offensively, but still managed to lead 14-6 heading into the locker room. But, the second half is where the Rangers shined, shutting out the Wildcats and scoring 4 more touchdowns kudos to Sawyer and Maguire. It was quite the game offensively, but don’t forget how the Rangers performed defensively. If you get a shut out a team, no matter how good the skill level of that team is or how good they are, that proves how good of a defensive team you are.

This win puts the Rangers at 6-3, as their only losses were to Jenison, Northern, and Lowell. 3 good teams. It will be interesting to see how much this team improves in the off-season and see if they can beat Jenison, Lowell, and FHN next year on JV.
