Freshman boys basketball makes a statement with huge win over Greenville

Freshman boys basketball added another win to its record with a 49-29 win at Greenville last night. Overall, the Rangers played better than in previous games, both offensively and defensively.

Unlike most games played by this team, FHC held the momentum throughout the entire game. At the very beginning of the game, the Rangers were slower than Greenville but were still ahead. In the first half, they struggled more with the offense than they did with defense. Going into halftime, the Rangers were only up by six due to the missed open opportunities on offense.

In the second half, the pace was picked up offensively and even more defensively. Quick passing combinations are what aided FHC to win by 20 points. The well-played offense was led by freshmen guards Cam David, Dawsen Beach, Jeremy James, and Dallas Hopson. The almost airtight defense was supported by freshman Matthew Mahoney with his two blocks and seven rebounds.

Dallas led the team by scoring 15 points and having four assists and Jeremy scored seven points and had two assists.

The 5-2 freshman Rangerballers look ahead after this motivating win to Cedar Springs next Tuesday.
