Boys varsity basketball preview: Cedar Springs Red Hawks

Boys+varsity+basketball+preview%3A+Cedar+Springs+Red+Hawks

Cedar Springs Red Hawks 4-5 (1-2) at Forest Hills Central Rangers 5-2 (2-0):

Everything you need to know about the Red Hawks:

Cedar has some experience on the roster while also having some youth. Senior guard Chase Kinzinger will most likely be their all-conference representative later down the line. He presents some issues with his ability to shoot, drive to the lane, and his efficiency from the free throw line. The Red Hawks also struggle with a lack of size underneath and has hindered them to be a good rebounding team.

They will most likely be in a man to man all the way up to half court and from there move into the 1-3-1 or a 2-3 zone. On offense they present a solid offensive flow, with hanoffs behind high ball screens at the top of the key.

Score prediction: FHC 77-Cedar Springs 49

Why:

After throttling Northview and Greenville, it has become evident that FHC is the top force in the OK white this season. Tonight will be no different and the Rangers will continue to exude dominance over an up and down team in Cedar Springs. I think the sophomore duo Mitch Wilkinson and Jimmy Scholler both have double doubles tonight, and junior Dan Deindorfer gets into the action big time in the points column.
