Gymnastics picks up another win over Kenowa Hills 137-133

The Forest Hills gymnastics team came out victorious again against the Knights of Kenowa Hills. Instead of putting out their best lineup for this meet, FH allowed a number of gymnasts to compete in order for more opportunities at receiving scores to qualify for the Regional Meet. This resulted in people competing in only a few events, instead of all four. With some unusually low scores last night, the gymnasts struggled to win the approval of the judges. Despite this, a few gymnasts still came out strong and earned impressive scores given the judging challenge.

Sophomore Hannah Walters had an impressive night, as she scored in the eight range in the bars, beam, and floor events. Sophomores Veronica Wagner and Olivia Jeong, along with junior Maheen Mulligan, also had successful nights. All three of them placed in the eight range on the vault, with Veronica scoring a team high of 8.35. Olivia then earned herself an 8.375 on the beam and an 8.75 on the floor.

This victory puts FH at 3-1 in dual meets. The next challenge for the gymnasts will be this Saturday at the Kenowa Hills Invitational. The upcoming meet looks promising, as the gymnasts were able to adjust to the equipment of the Knights’ gym last night.
