The Lady Rangers continued their winning streak last night at Wyoming with a 59-44 victory over the Wolves. Despite this being a non-conference game, FHC carried over momentum from last week’s buzzer-beating win. The Rangers were led by junior Claire Baguley with 23 points and senior Madi Winter with 19.

Senior Emma Yoder scored the first points of the game to set the tone early first quarter. FHC went on to lead 17-8 at the end of one and dominated the rest of the half. Senior Breanna Probst had an incredible block in the final seconds of the second quarter to give the Rangers momentum and intensity as they went into the locker room at the half leading 25-18.

Unfortunately, FHC faded in the third quarter- which has become a common trend for this team- and allowed the Wolves to close the gap to just 27-26. The stellar Ranger defense then turned up the intensity, however, and forced some key steals and traps to secure possession of the ball. This extended their lead to 46-33 at the end of three. Exceptional passing, in addition to made free throws down the stretch, allowed FHC to secure a 59-44 victory.

This non-conference victory puts the Rangers at 8-5 overall heading into another non-conference game against East Grand Rapids on Friday. This 10-3 Pioneer team is very talented and will be a challenge for FHC. However, with the Lady Rangers coming in on a three-game winning streak and a historic rivalry between these two schools, FHC will look to come out strong Friday night.
