The varsity hockey team secured its third straight win against the Rockford Rams last night 5-2 on the road. Senior captain Charlie Brewer led the charge for FHC by scoring 4 out of the 5 goals last night, with sophomore Cole Beaufait scoring the other goal. The Rangers look to carry this momentum and have the same energy into Saturday night’s rematch against the Rams.

The first period started out with both teams scoring a goal. Both teams played well, but there were many things each team could’ve done better. The Rangers adjusted very well in the second period, as they stopped taking penalties. Because of FHC’s smart play, they were able to score 3 more goals to extend the lead to 4-1 heading back into the locker room. Both teams exchanged another goal in the third, and the Rangers shut the door on Rockford with a final score of 5-2.

This win was a big momentum boost for the Rangers, as it helps FHC in its race to the top of the OK White Conference. The Rangers need to play the body well, stay out of the box as much as they can, and come out with a lot of energy in order to get another win over the Rams tonight. With huge games against Grandville and East Kentwood coming up, FHC just needs to focus on Rockford and take one game at a time.
