JV softball takes two hard losses to Unity Christian

After picking up seven straight mercies, the JV softball team finally met its match in Unity Christian. Despite impressive performances at the plate from a few Rangers, UC pulled out two mercies over FHC, 14-4 and 20-3.

Sophomore Jordyn Carlson went 3-3 in game one, along with freshmen Kylie Halverson and Katie Tellier going 2-3 each. The other Rangers, however, couldn’t find holes in the talented UC defense. On the other side, UC picked up 12 hits which led to the numerous runs, assisted by the Rangers’ 5 errors that led to the 14-4 final.

Game two saw more of the same from both teams as UC racked up 16 hits and FHC had 8 errors. Kylie once again went 2-3, along with a couple more hits from FHC’s lineup, but it wasn’t enough to combat the explosive UC offense. Another off game led to the 20-3 final for the second matchup of the night.

The JV softball team is now 7-2 (5-0) on the season with these two non conference losses that will serve as a learning opportunity to move forward for the Rangers. FHC is back at it again today in a tournament on the West side of the state, looking to bounce back fast from last night.
