JV softball drops two close games to Lowell

The JV softball team went on the road to Lowell last night looking to disrupt the Red Arrows’ undefeated conference record. After two competitive and close games, FHC lost 4-2 and 8-7.

In game one freshman Faith Addington pitched phenomenally. She tallied 8 strikeouts and 2 walks, while giving up 6 hits. The Rangers played errorless defense, making Lowell earn all 4 runs. Sophomore Val Gill led the team by going 2-3 at the plate.

Lowell came out hot in game two and capitalized on FHC’s mistakes to score 6 runs on 5 errors in the first inning alone. From then on, the Rangers tightened up the defense and allowed only 2 more runs to score.

Sophomore Caitlin Snyder struggled in the first inning but pulled it together for the rest of the second game from the circle. She struck out 5 and gave up 5 hits. Sophomores Katie Willemin and Jordyn Carlson, along with freshman Bela Gonzalez all went .500 at the plate in game two. Freshman Katie Tellier led the team on offense, going 3-4.
