Girls swim and dive secures second place in the Forest Hills Invitational

The Lady Ranger swim and dive team competed this Saturday at the Forest Hills Invitational against three other teams, FHNE, Portage Central, and Bridgeman. The meet was set up with four different divisions for each event, making this meet very unique. The team worked very hard and was able to place second behind Portage Central, with many swimmers placing first in their divisions.

There were several key swimmers placing first this meet including junior Hailee Sincerbeaux placing first in the 50-yard Freestyle, sophomore Rachel Schenck in the 500-yard Freestyle and in the 200-yard Freestyle, and sophomore Ellie Field, who placed in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay along with sophomore Sydney Kushak and seniors Jayla Williams and Megan Stockenauer. Jayla also placed first in the 400-yard Relay along with freshmen Ella Fauson and Leila Gonzalez and junior Elena Folkert. Also competing for this event in a different division were seniors Katherine Bell and Katie Johnson, junior Emma McDonald and freshman Caroline Bell.

The 200-yard Medley Relay was also won by freshman Jessica Doyel, sophomore Olivia Hooper – who also placed in the 200 IM – junior Sarah Schenck, and senior Kara Bolger – who also placed in the 100-yard Freestyle along with sophomore Emily Johnson. Also competing for this event in another division were sophomores Sydney Kushak and Sarah Chesner, freshman Leila Gonzalez ,and senior Katie Johnson. Competing in the third division for this event was senior Megan Stockenauer and juniors Elena Folkert, Emma McDonald, and Maggie Zorn. Also placing was freshman Jessica Doyel and junior Rachel Douma in the 100-yard Breastroke. Senior diver Lauren Gesik and junior Dana Kistler both placed second in their divisions.

The Lady Ranger swim and dive team competed hard this weekend to secure second place in the Forest Hills Invitational, with well-executed races and dives. The team hopes to come back harder on Tuesday, September 25 at the Forest Hills Aquatic Center against the Forest Hills Northern Huskies.
