The Ranger JV tennis team hoped to climb out of an end-of-the-year slump against the Forest Hills Eastern Hawks. They, unfortunately, could not overcome that adversity, as they were defeated by only one point 6-5. Big wins came from junior Jannis Jacobs and freshman Leo Treash 8-5 along with the sophomore duo of Eli Romijn and Sam Cooper. FHC will look to finish the season strong against Lowell on Monday.

Despite the result, FHC really looked good in this game. The freshman duo of Tommy Laidlaw and Alex Schnek defeated some of FHE’s toughest players. Another freshman duo that really showed out was Sammie Rouvillois and Liam Sweetman, who edged out a win 9-8 and ended up being big for the Rangers despite the end result.

The Rangers are on a five-game losing streak and really could use a win to finish off the season strong. To do that, they will have to beat a very good Lowell team Monday night. FHC needs to put the loss behind them and focus on finishing off a solid season by defeating the Red Arrows.
