Varisty volleyball continues winning streak against Cedar Springs

Thursday night the varsity volleyball team crushed Cedar Springs on the road to take the match 3-0. This win give them a four-game winning streak and put the team at 6-3 in the conference with four games remaining.

Similar to the last time the teams played, the Rangers only allowed Cedar Springs 41 points the entire night and defeated them 25-14, 25-16, and 25-11. Underclassmen had a huge impact on the game. Freshman Sophia Shields led the offense with 9 kills and freshman Brooklyn Conner had 3 kills and 2 blocks. Sophomores Hannah Bergman and Morghan Tilton both had 2 aces, and sophomore Julia Bouma had 9 digs and 5 assists. Senior Kate Ryan dominated all aspects of the game; she had 7 digs, 17 assists, 3 aces, and 3 kills.

The team has a tournament this weekend at East Kentwood before conference play resumes Tuesday night against Ottawa Hills for Senior Night. Next week Thursday the Rangers play Lowell, who is arguably their biggest competition in the conference.
