“For the rest of the [swim] season, I’m really looking forward to tapering. Tapering is when we do an easy two weeks of practice before conference so that we’re all ready for conference. It makes us have more energy for conferences. [One of the things we do is] yoga in the girl’s locker room because our coach thinks the girl’s locker room is bigger. So he brings us in there and makes us sit in a circle on mats doing yoga, then he has us relax and think about a good time or memory. You could [visualize a good swim meet], but [mostly] we visualize a place you want to go, and you just get into a relaxed mental state.”
