Gymnastics takes second at weekend competition

The Forest Hills gymnastics team took second at this past weekend’s competition, as FH took on three other competitors: the Rockford Rams, Lowell Red Arrows, and Kenowa Hills Knights. The team’s score was a very solid 138.025 after a very good performance.

Once again, junior Olivia Jeong was a key to the team’s victory. Olivia competed in all four events, and her lowest score was 8.15 on the bars. On the beam, she scored a solid 8.475, and on the vault, she received an 8.4. Her best event was the floor where she scored a very high 8.65.

Junior Hannah Walters was competing at 100% health this past weekend for the first time in a while after suffering from a foot injury earlier in the season. She competed in all four events and received an amazing 8.575 on the floor event. Her next highest score was an 8.55 in the beam, then an 8.4 on the vault, and lastly an 8.025 on the bars.

The Forest Hills gymnastics team will compete again on Monday, Feb. 18 at Rockford.
