Last night, the Forest Hills United varsity water polo team took on the Zeeland East Chix in a tough fought game. However, they sadly fell short of a victory losing 11-5 and making their record 1-7.

Senior Selina Franovic led the team in scoring once again as she went on to score two of the teams five goals. The other players from the team that were able to put their shots in the back of the net were junior Sarah Schenck who scored one, junior Maggie Zorn who scored once, and junior Megan Plantamura from Forest Hills Northern scored their last goal.

The game took a turn in the second half as the teams starting goalie, senior Madi Crookston from Northern, got a black eye. Because of this minor setback, the team put senior Kara Bolger in goal until they could get another goalie. The team ended up pulling up the junior varsity team’s goalie to finish off the game.

The Forest Hills United varsity water polo team will take on an array of different teams at this weekend’s tournament. The tournament will be held at Jenison High School and will go Friday through Sunday.
