Boys JV lacrosse hurdles Cranbrook in a 13-1 defensive slugfest

Boys JV lacrosse took on the Cranbrook Cranes on the east coast this Saturday. The Rangers ended up winning this one 13-1.

Early on in the first quarter, the Rangers started off hot with a quick offensive strike from sophomore Collin Ward. Shortly after, FHC raised the lead to 2-0 with a pass from to the crease for an open shot in front of the goal. The rest of the quarter went as planned for the Rangers, as freshmen Nathan Sargeant, Miles Duiven, and John Tomsheck came up huge for the team, carrying the offense. Along with them, was sophomore Collin Ward who finished with 4 goals, just behind Miles who led with 5. The defense also stunned the Cranes, as they held them scoreless for the first half. Leading this defensive slugfest, was freshman goalie Charlie Mehney who had some incredible saves down the stretch and even had an assist.

As the Rangers came out of the locker room in the second half, they planned to hold the Cranes scoreless. They did this up to the final minutes, when a kid from Cranbrook zipped one into the back of the net, saving the Cranes from a shutout. With that goal, however, came many more Ranger goals as they prove their spot as one of the most dominant boys JV lacrosse teams in the area.

This win would improve their record to 7-1, with a 3-0 record in the conference. Their next game is against Caledonia on Monday, April 29 at home.
