JV softball gets shut out by Hudsonville

Sophomore Bela Gonzalez took the mound against a potent Hudsonville offense last night. The Eagles came out hot and played airtight on defense, as the Rangers lost 15-0 in four innings.

Bela gave up 6 hits and 8 walks while earning 4 strikeouts. FHC’s defense committed 4 costly errors in the field, and Hudsonville was able to run up the score early.

The Eagles had an ace on the mound, as she was able to earn a no-hitter against the Rangers and secure 7 strikeouts on the night.

The second game of the doubleheader was not able to be played due to inclement weather, and the team will be back in action today against another non-conference opponent in East Kentwood. Weather permitting, the Rangers will look for a couple wins against the Falcons to build on their 5-7 (5-3) record.
