Student Council Q&A: Meribell Varghese

Name: Meribell Varghese

Grade: Freshman

Running for: Trustee

1. Why are you running?

“I am running because I love Student Council, and I generally love being involved in behind-the-scenes work and organization for events.”

2. How do you believe you can help your grade?

“I believe I can help my grade because I am passionate about being in the council, and I feel like that passion can help our class. I would [also] bring new ideas to the table.”

 3. What changes would you like to see in your grade?

“I would for sure love to see people be more involved with things such as the Lip Sync and Lip Dub and not just hope other people step up and win for everyone.”

4. Do you have experience with Student Council?

“Yes, I do have experience with the Student Council.”

5. If so, what is the most gratifying part of being on Student Council?

“The most gratifying part of being on the council is knowing that you are part of a group of people who help make school more fun. Once a season is over, like Homecoming, it’s satisfying to look at the results.”

6. Why should students vote for you?

“I genuinely love Student Council and not just doing it for the ‘college resume’ like other people say. Even in fifth and sixth grade, I would run for the HIT team, which is essentially the Student Council at Central Woodlands. So, I love doing the kind of work we do in the council, such as organizing assemblies.”
