The Rangers had three total wrestlers compete in the Regional finals at Grandville high school, but they will no longer be competing in the 2019-2020 schedule, as all three were knocked out.

At 103 was junior Mason Corcoran, who was 0-2 on the day. This was Mason’s first season, and he proved to be essential to the squad from start to finish. Unfortunately, he went against two very solid competitors from Brighton and Holt who pinned him early on. Overall, he went 12-14 on the season and put up a fight with every wrestler he faced.

Junior Caden Jacobs also wrestled in this event and went against a pair of the toughest competitors in the state. He won his first match in a 4-3 battle over Evan Sheeders of Battle Creek Lakeview but lost his next two. His second and third matches ended in losses, but he fought valiantly throughout the day and the year.

In the 135 weight class, junior Bryce Hysong finished 1-2 on the day. His first match was a long and drawn-out loss, but he quickly turned that around with a 12-1 win over Luke Weaver of South Lyon. Bryce would finish off his season as a Regional Qualifier with a 23-16 overall record.

These three Rangers are all looking to become bigger and better in the off-season, and they will likely be very dominant in the 2020-2021 season.
