How is the season going so far?

The season is going very well, despite a couple of losses here and there we are on a 6 game win streak at the moment and looking forward to pushing it to 7 next week with a win against Northview.

What are your goals for the season?

My goals for the rest of the season are to keep on getting my teammates more involved and sharing the ball.  Basketball is a team sport and it has to be played that way. One of the other goals is to finish out the last 3 games, 3-0.

How long have you been playing basketball?

I have been playing basketball since I was about in kindergarten, so around 6, but I first picked up a basketball when I was 3 and I have been in love with the game ever since.

What is your favorite part about being on the team?

My favorite part of being on the team is being with a group I will be playing with for the rest of my high school career. Also the hard work and dedication everybody brings to this team, everyone is energetic when it comes to game time and we are ready to go without a doubt, whoever it is.

3 Fun facts about Owen

  1. He also plays football
  2. The first word he said was “ball”
  3. He spends more time with a basketball then anyone he knows.

What is your most memorable basketball experience?

My most memorable experience would definitely have to be last year when I was playing travel basketball for Grand Rapids Phoenix, and we won the Storm Classic.  We went 6-0 we blew every team out by 20+ points and beat a really good team in the Championship.

What makes basketball special to you?

Basketball has always been special to me, my dad is a big influence on my game and helps me get better every day.  He was a 4-year varsity basketball and football player and I take a lot of good advice from him that he has learned from personal experience.
