Never ending irrational numbers

As the days go on, more work is added to

the equation.

It feels as though I have exhausted

every possible procrastination technique.

It feels as though I have exhausted

any possible hope that any of this will get any easier.

No matter how much I subtract

from the problem,

it appears that I am still left with pesky variables

that I just can’t seem to divide.

They won’t cancel,

They, too, have nowhere else to go.

I keep trying to draw

the bar

to break down the problem further—

to inch closer towards the solution

But the number I have left isn’t whole;

it repeats.

It goes on forever,

I can’t see the end.
