Despite a two-week break in their season, the varsity girls volleyball team leaped right back into their continuing season with three games in a row in their first quad of the season. The Rangers took on three OK White Conference teams and were able to defeat them all in three sets.

The girls first took on the East Grand Rapids Pioneers. With ease, the girls were able to pick up the first set victory with a score of 25-12. Their momentum continued on with the next set; however, the Pioneers made it a bit more of a battle, finishing with a score of 25-23, with the Rangers just barely squeaking by. In the last set, the Rangers dominated EGR with a score of 25-14.

The Rangers then took on the Forest Hills Northern Huskies in a Battle of the Hills showdown. The Rangers showed themselves to be the better team from the beginning as they went on to win the first set 25-16. As the next set commenced, the Rangers rallied on cleaning up on the Huskies with a score of 25-15. In the last set, the Rangers proceeded to end with the same score of the second set 25-15.

Lastly, as the Rangers headed into their third game of the day, they were bound to take on the Northview Wildcats. After being 2-0 so far for the day, this third win would improve the Rangers’ OK White Conference record by double what it had been. The first set began, and right from the get-go, the Rangers set the tone for what the rest of the game would be like. They dominated the Wildcats 25-13 in the first set and then proceeded to run the Wildcats score down even farther in the next two sets. The second set ended with a score of 25-11, and then the third and final set finished 25-10.

After these three games, the Rangers record now sits at 7-3 overall. They are set to take on the East Grand Rapids Pioneers, once again, this Tuesday, October, 20. This will be the first round of their OK White Conference play.
