The FHC football team enters their last stretch of games, needing only one more win to be guaranteed a trip to the playoffs. The Rangers face the toughest team they will play all season this Friday as they take on the Lowell Red Arrows on the road. The game will be tough, but the Rangers are more than capable of pulling out a victory. Here are the 5 keys for the Rangers’ victory tonight.
Quiet the Crowd Early
Lowell always draws big numbers to their games, and with this being Lowell’s homecoming game, the stadium will be rocking. FHC will look to make big plays early to silence the home crowd and not allow Lowell get any momentum. Whether it’s a turnover on defense or a big time gain on offense, FHC has to start out strong.
Keep the Chains Moving on Offense
Lowell brings into the game a big-time defense that has caused frustration for every offense it has seen. FHC has to be able to put together drives that get the team into field goal range or to 4 down territory. If the offense can slowly but surely wear down Lowell’s defense, then FHC has a great chance to come out on top.
Speaking of the offense, look for FHC to air it out against Lowell. FHC torched FHN last week through the air with touchdown passes to junior Bryce Clay and Senior Jack Uecker. Senior quarterback Tanner Hallock has to be in sync with his receivers all night long to keep Lowell at bay.
The past few weeks, FHC’s D-line has wreaked havoc on opposing offenses. Lowell will be the most physical team FHC plays. FHC’s line has to get a good push to disrupt Lowell’s running game and force the passing game into tough situations. If FHC can get pressure in the backfield, it would be an enormous boost for the team.
If the special teams’ play is solid today, it will be a big boost for FHC. By not allowing any returns with deep kicks and making sure the punting does its job, FHC will be in a good position to win the football game. In a game this big, FHC can’t afford to leave any points on the board.
