Kate will be entering her first year on staff this year. In the future, she plans on majoring in international relations with an intention on pursuing an international law degree. Kate has been on the executive board for the school's Model UN class for two of the three years she has been participating in FHCMUN. She has received numerous awards over the years, most notably winning best delegate while representing China in Security Council at the Great Lakes Invitational Conference in Kalamazoo. Kate is a member of the National Honors Society and National Society of High School Scholars. She spends her free time working at Le Bon Macaron in Easttown and taking classes at GRCC. After having to take a break from TCT for a year and a half due to schedule conflicts, Kate cannot wait to improve her writing skills while all the same reading incredible articles by everyone on staff.

  • Favorite thing about being on staff: Being able to work with other students who share an interest in writing
  • Favorite type of story: News
  • Hobbies/Interest: Traveling, reading and exploring new coffee shops
  • Favorite book and why: In the Land of Invisible Women by Dr. Qanta Ahmed. It's a compelling story of an English-raised, American-taught, Muslim female doctor forced to return to her parent's homeland of Saudi Arabia for three years after being deported from America. The book made me realize just how many different facets of Islam and tolerance there are.
  • It's a Friday night, you will probably find Kate: Working and drinking coffee at Le Bon Macaron until 9:30, followed by watching Netflix, reading or writing in bed.

Freshman year. 14 years old, I set my alarm for 6:27am. I would get dressed, neatly in jeans and a tank top with a cardigan, eat breakfast, brush my teeth, and set off in the brisk morning air for the...
