Jordan George

Jordan George, Editor in Chief

Jordan is entering his third year on staff, and is one of the three Editors in Chief. This past year, Jordan was the Sports Editor and primarily wrote sports columns and sports features, winning the MIPA award as the number one sports columnist in the state of Michigan. He is the captain of the varsity basketball team and also participates in Student Council, Diversity Club, and National Honors Society. He participated in an internship this past winter with the Grand Rapids Drive, Grand Rapids' NBA D-League team, where he worked in public relations. Jordan's love of writing sports columns and sports features comes from his passion for both sports and writing.

Favorite thing about being on staff: Writing columns about things that I am passionate about and getting the chance to see the school read them. Also, going to sporting events and reporting on them. I really like everyone on staff too and the relationships that I have built through being in class with everyone.

  • Favorite type of story to write: Sports columns and features.
  • Extracurriculars/Sports: Basketball, Student Council, Diversity Club, National Honors Society, CONNECT.
  • Hobbies/Interests: Watching sports, especially college basketball. Reading, writing, playing basketball, and buying shoes.
  • Favorite book and why: To Kill a Mockingbird. Teaches valuable lessons that can be applicable to almost every situation, and is a really fun book to read with an interesting plot.
  • If it is Friday night, you will most likely find Jordan...: In the gym, playing for the basketball team! Or if it is Fall, cheering on the football team in the student section.
