Prom Court Q&As: Dallas Hopson

What’s one word to describe how you feel about being on prom court? 

“Surprised. I didn’t know that many people liked me and would vote for me, to be honest.”

Why do you think you were nominated?

“After I had a bullying incident freshman year, I tried to be nice to everyone because it really scared me. I’ve also tried to be a good, unselfish person who is cool with everyone.”

What is your opinion towards the alteration of senior prom this year?

“I think it’s a great idea and a fun way to celebrate.”

How severe is your senioritis?

“I have bad senioritis. My grades are at an all-time low, and I dread going to school every day.”

What is one song, in particular, you hope the DJ will play at the dance? 

“Anything by Drake because he is the best.”

Is there anyone who isn’t nominated for court who you believe should be recognized?

“Yes, [senior] Alec Gast. Many of us believe he was snubbed and deserves to be on court.”

What was the highlight of your senior year?

“I’d say the best part of senior year was spring break. It was great being in Florida with all of my closest friends.”

What will you miss most from your time here at FHC?

“I’m going to miss seeing all of the people—even the people I wasn’t really friends with; I’m going to miss seeing them every day.”
