Homecoming Court Q&As: Abby Drueke
What was your reaction to hearing your name called?
“Hearing my name honestly just surprised me, mostly because they said Abigail and no one calls me that, so it took me a second to realize it was me. After that, though, I just was happy to walk down with my friends and be surrounded by such great people.”
Why do you think you were nominated for court?
“I’m not really sure why I was nominated. In class, I’m pretty outspoken and try and talk to whoever will listen, so I’m friends with people throughout the school. Also, my overall involvement from sports to academic clubs has made me branch out to new friends.”
Who do you think deserves to be nominated that wasn’t?
“I wish court could have so many more people on it. but, if I had to choose, I do really wish [senior] Vinod Rajakrishna was. He deserves to have his moment, whether he’s a fan of it or not.”
What spirit day is your favorite, and why?
“My favorite spirit day is for sure decades. I think it prompts the craziest clothes of the week, so I’m excited to see everyone’s throwback outfits.”
What does it mean to you to be nominated?
“Being nominated means a lot to me. I’m so happy to be a part of such a big tradition at our school, and I’m appreciative that my classmates thought to vote for me. I know how many amazing people our school has, and for my classmates to think of me means a lot.”
What is your go-to pizza topping?
“My go-to pizza topping is probably Cholula hot sauce—I put it on everything.”
If you were a song, what song would you be, and why?
“I would for sure be “Monster,” but strictly Nicki Minaj’s part (and maybe a little of Jay-Z’s).”
