Why did you apply to be a student director?
“I applied to be student director because I wanted to be involved in FHC Inspires in some way. I thought about being a speaker, but when I learned about directing and being an organizer of the event, I jumped at the opportunity: bonus point for college application credit.”
What goes into planning this event?
“Everything—time and energy. From designing posters and t-shirts to giving feedback to the speakers and encouraging them in specific ways, everything must be planned.”
What are your behind the scene jobs during the event?
“During the event, [sophomore] Kiera [Kemppainen] and I will be backstage with microphones on to be able to communicate with each other and [Honors English 10 teacher Ken] George. We will be hyping the speakers up right before they give their talks and overall, making sure everything runs smoothly.”
How are you feeling about organizing FHC Inspires?
“I’m feeling good about it. It’s been a lot to live up to.”
If you had to choose one word to describe your job, what would it be?
“Hectic.”
Have you made any changes from last year’s FHC Inspires?
“We’ve made small changes from previous years. Our color scheme shifted from one color to multiple, and other small things like that have been changed. “
What’s a mobile game you’re currently hooked on?
“PowerSchool.”
