TCT’s countless thanks 2022: Ellerie Knowles
To my dog-
You are my favorite animal on the planet. I would choose you over anything. You are my therapy dog for all the times that I get anxious or upset or worried and I wish I could bring you everywhere. I know I get annoyed whenever you wake me up before I want to wake up, but I still love you. I love all of your cuddles and your dog smiles that you only get when it’s a special occasion (warm weather or car rides). Thank you for being on my side for all arguments and working through your accident, because I can only imagine what it was like being hit by a truck. Also thanks for agreeing to live forever.
To my mom-
There are so many things I have to thank you for. Of course, I have to thank you for all the normal mom things like raising me, all the things you buy for me, all the trips you take me on, and all the things you let me do. I also have to say thanks for all the remarkable things you do. For listening to all my drama and problems, celebrating Christmas on November first, watching TikTok with me for hours, shopping, and just being there for me. You are one of the people I feel most comfortable with and I am forever grateful for that.
To my dad-
I love the fact that I can complain to you about mom. You are always the one to cheer me up when I’m down with your funny jokes. I’m also thankful for all the things you get me and allow me to do, but also the exceptional things that are unique to us. Some of my favorite memories come from our daddy-daughter dances or our days, and I think we need to schedule one soon.
To dance-
Whenever life is tough, sad, annoying, or anything, I feel like dance is what I can look forward to. Even though it’s not a person or genuine article, it’s something that has been there for me always. Having danced since I was 2, I’ve been surrounded by the environment practically forever. It brings me confidence when I’m insecure. It brings me happiness when I’m depressed. It brings me friendships when I feel alone. It has made my life so much better and even when I say it’s annoying and I want to quit I won’t, because I truly love it and owe dance my whole life.
To summer-
During summer, everything is better. I’m happier, more confident, everything. Some of the best memories that don’t come from dance are set in summer–or at least warmer weather. My favorite events all occur in summer other than Christmas. Honestly, my whole personality is summer. It’s another thing, like dance, that is something that’s always been there. It comes every year, and I know it’s going to come.
To Gavin-
I am forever thankful for our bond. I know that many siblings don’t get along and argue all the time. We argue and I can say there are many times when I am extremely annoyed with you, I feel our bond is much stronger than others. I love the fact that I can tell you all my drama and you can tell me all of yours. I hope you can always come to me for anything you need and never stop telling me about your 6th-grade girl problems. It makes me so happy to know that you are my brother and I know I don’t say it enough but thank you– even when I yell at you or tell you what to do.
To Disney-
Almost everyone I meet and get close to will know I love anything Disney. Many of those people don’t know the reason behind it though. First of all, it was my childhood. I grew up watching just about only Disney channels or Disney movies. The main travel destination for my family was Disney World, and for the longest time, I thought the entire state of Florida was Disney. To this day, 90% of my comfort movies and series are Disney. Overall, it brings me joy and can calm me down– even when getting a shot. It has brought me memories, friendships, experiences, and more.
I could write forever about the things and people I’m thankful for, but for now, this is all I’m writing about, because I am also very thankful for sleep and relaxation. Even though I’m not writing about it, I’m insanely thankful for my friends, the rest of my family, and more beyond that.
