Honorable Mention interview: Michael Peliotes

Michael Peliotes

All-Conference Honorable Mention

Grade: Senior

Position: TE/DE

How has this season been your best one yet? What are some things you do to lead your team?

Going undefeated in the regular season has made it one of the best for me, but it’s not just the winning part. Everyone felt like they were closer together this season than any other. We all spent time working out together, practicing together, going through APG together, but we also spent time outside of all that on our own time. That, I feel like, had made us a better team as well. I guess you could say I have been a lead by example kind of guy. I don’t talk a lot, so this is my type of way to lead. I do what I do on the field to show other what to do.

What does it mean for FHC to have so many players recognized at the All-Conference meeting?

It shows that our program is filled with a ton of talent and hard work. No one can just come out and play a sport and expect them to be an all-conference player. These guys have grinded through the whole offseason, being the best they could be for this team this season.

What is your best memory from this season so far?

The one that shines for me would have to be the Lowell game. We prepared throughout the whole week leading up to that Friday to play them. For us seniors, coming off of last year’s performances against them left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Not only did we beat them, but we pounded them. That was just a great feeling to have.

What are you going to take away from this year?

That football isn’t just a game, but it can teach you life lessons too. What one person does can affect the others they are with. One big one we always talk about is doing our one eleventh. If we can do that, we have a good shot at winning games because it can take only one person to change the outcome of everything.

What are you looking forward to in this last game(s)?

No matter what the outcome of the game, I just want everyone to put everything they have on the line and leave it out on the table for the last game(s). So I guess I’m just looking forward to playing our best football this week.
