Aaron Jachim – Class of 2020 Treasurer

Name: Aaron Jachim

Grade: Sophomore

Running for: Treasurer

1. How long have you been a part of student council?

“If I get elected, this will be my first year on student council. However, I have contributed a lot of time to helping with student council activities over the last two years of my high school career.”

2. Why are you running?

“I am running because I would love to make a greater contribution to the school and form a greater bond between the school and the student body. What I care about most is being able to help personalize dances, floats, the banner, and everything else that comes along with the position so that my fellow peers and I love it.”

3. What kind of leader do you hope to be?

“I hope to set a great example for the underclassmen already at the school and the ones coming in. During my freshman year, I was able to be guided through some of the hardships of high school by upperclassmen who were willing to open up and help. If I can pass along that same compassion, I would feel more than accomplished. Being on student council would allow me to have a platform where I could help more than a few people and have a greater outreach to those who need it.”

4. What do you hope to contribute to the school?

“I hope to be more active in letting my thoughts be heard about the environment of the school and how we can improve it. The student body here continues to make breakthroughs when talking about mental health, bullying, behavior, and many other subjects that are usually avoided, but I think we could move further and start taking action with those conversations. I hope to lead us there.”

5. Why should students vote for you?

“My peers should vote for me because I believe that I am a great example of our class. I am personable and not afraid to talk to students and faculty about issues that should be addressed, as well as willing to give the time it takes to accomplish tasks such as planning prom, making the banner, helping to organize lip synch, and as your treasurer, finding the budget for it all. I love my class and know we can continue to show our strength and unity.”
