Humans of FHC: Amelia Pointer

“I’m kind of a [Halloween] fanatic. I was supposed to be born on Halloween, but I was born the 29th. [I love] the whole scary factor and the costumes and fall, in general– and haunted houses, I’m really into that.

I’ve been to The Haunt before, and I make it a point to watch as many horror films as I can leading up to it. And then Cedar Point does HalloWeekends, and I’ve been to that a few times, and it’s super fun. They’ve got Blood on the Bayou, haunted houses, and the Eternity Infirmary– they’ve all got different spooky themes like gore and jump scares, so that’s really fun. And they’ve got people running through the streets dressed as clowns or whatever.

A couple years ago, I dressed up as the headless horseman. My dad constructed it– I had a box over my head with a hole cut out and a mesh thing over it, and then he put a trench coat over that, and we stuffed the sleeves with paper. So I looked like a six foot five man without a head with really tiny legs. It was pretty cool. I mean I couldn’t see all night, and I was tripping over myself all night, but it looked really good, and that’s all I cared about.

I’m trying to think of a costume [for this year] now, but I have no idea what I’m going to do yet. But I’m hoping it’s going to be good.”
