Elena Nasser
Name: Elena Nasser
Grade: 12
Role: Mrs. Dorothy Quimby
What are you most excited about?
“I can’t wait to show our production to audiences, especially the kids. This show is really for them, and I can’t wait for audiences to see it.”
What makes you fit your role so well?
“I definitely ‘mom’ my friends. I always check in on them and make sure they get sleep and food, so playing a mother is almost a natural thing.”
What is your favorite thing about being involved in the play?
“I love acting and rehearsing, but my favorite part would have to be the little moments offstage- while the crew & directors are figuring things out- where we just joke around, make conspiracy theories about the show, and have a lot of fun.”
What is the cast dynamic and relationship like?
“The whole cast has really come together, but I especially love the dynamic of the Quimby family, even from the early rehearsals we really just clicked. [It] definitely feels real.”
What is your favorite part about your role?
“Dorothy is trying her best to be a great mom, and she’s honestly very sweet. I love that about her.”
What have been some difficulties with your role or in rehearsal?
“The hardest part is probably remembering to act like an adult, not a high schooler. Dorothy is a mother and a grown woman, which I am definitely not, so just finding her voice, mannerisms, and even her walk was difficult but worth it.”
How has this experience affected you and your high school experience?
“It has made my senior year fantastic [and has] definitely [been] my favorite part so far.”
What should audiences be excited about?
“This show is all about family, being who you are, and growing up, and it is wonderful! Come and be ready to laugh, smile, and leave with a heart full of love.”
