Student Council Q&A: Maurielle Hayes
Name: Maurielle Hayes
Grade: Freshman
Running for: Trustee
1. Why are you running?
“One of the main reasons I am running is because I want to be involved more within our school. I believe it would be a tremendous privilege to be a part of our school’s decision-making processes.”
2. How do you believe you can help your grade?
“I believe I can help our grade by being the voice of our students. I can help by making them aware of what is going on in our school and listening to their suggestions.”
3. What changes would you like to see in your grade?
“A change I would like to see is an increase in student participation, especially with underclassmen.”
4. Do you have experience with Student Council?
“I do not have experience with Student Council, but I think it would be a great experience.”
5. Why should students vote for you?
“Students should vote for me because I am a leader, but I also like to keep things relaxed. A common stereotype with student council members is that they are super uptight, and I promise to get things done while simultaneously keeping things fun. As I have already said, I want to be open to students’ opinions. By voting for me, students can assure that they have a say in our class decisions.”
