Theryn Hallock vs. Ottawa Hills
Sophomore Theryn Hallock had an amazing game versus Ottawa Hills, leading the girls varsity basketball team with offensive dominance. She had a career-high 43 points, while also dishing out assists and supporting her team. Theryn had 8 rebounds, 9 steals, 8 assists, and 2 blocks in this game, making her performance a well-rounded and exceedingly impressive one. Overall, this was an incredible performance and demonstrated complete offensive and defensive dominance, with the final score being 75-42 and Theryn outscoring Ottawa’s entire team.
Alex Souza vs. Lowell
Senior Alex Souza bowled an amazing score of 221, a career-high, against Lowell. Although the team ended up losing the match 18-12, this score stands out as the best of the year for the bowling team, and Souza demonstrated his bowling prowess as both a captain and a player in this game.
“Overall I feel like we should have won, but the Lowell guys were bowling out of their minds. Personally, I was glad I could improve every year in my scores,” said Alex on the match.
Avery LeTourneau at Conferences
The conference meet for boys swim was an amazing one in terms of records broken. Junior Avery LeTourneau broke the school record in the 100-yard fly event with his time of 51.05 seconds. While he didn’t take first, he still took a respectable third place and solidified himself on the record board as the fastest FHC swimmer to ever swim the 100-yard fly.
“It feels really special to set a team record and bittersweet with that being our last meet of the year,” Avery said.
CJ Hier at Conferences
Senior CJ Hier also had a record-breaking day at the conference meet. Not only did he break the school record in the 100-yard backstroke, but he also took the Northview pool record in the 200-yard individual medley. His record 100-yard back secured him second place with his time of 52.55 seconds, while his pool-record 200-yard individual medley won him the race with his time of 1:57.51.
“I went into the race knowing it was going to be tough, so it was really special to win an individual championship and set a new pool record in front of my family, friends, and teammates,” CJ said.
Hannah Becker at States
Hannah battled at states, beating opponent after opponent. She moved up and only lost to one person, who pinned her in the first period. Overall, she got second place in the state, an amazing feat and arguably one of the most impressive accomplishments from a very successful first two years for the girls wrestling program at FHC.
